No. This is a very common question. You do not have to be in shape in order to attend classes. We have strength and conditioning programs built into the curriculum, that will strengthen your core and will develop significant muscle tone. The conditioning drills that are used in BJJ also help prevent injuries by strengthening muscles around the joints.

Am I to Old/Big/Small?

No, BJJ is designed for everybody regardless of age or size. you will start your first class in the fundamentals program which will teach you how to maintain control in each position, as well as help you build confidence in your ability to perform each move.

Do I have to compete?

No. Competing is a great way to challenge and make some serious improvements, but competing is not for everyone and life sometimes just does not allow us the time to focus on competition. You will always be challenged in class, and we want to make sure that we are helping you improve your own personal goals.
